The Nile was crucial for Ancient Egyptians, like how it supplied them with fertile land for farming. It also served as a natural boundary against invasions from foreign nations. The Nile flowed northward, which is why Egypt is seperated into two different sections: Upper and Lower Egypt. It's also the longest river in the world, flowing for over 4,000 miles.

The Egyptian Empire started in 3100BC, when the Pharaoh Menes united Upper and Lower Egypt, this age was called the Old Kingdom. The middle Kingdom began in 2050BC and lasted until 1652BC. During this period there was lots of expansion into new land and the building of a canal that connected the Nile to the Red Sea. Lastly, the New Kingdom lasted from 1567BC until 1085BC. There was great wealth in this period, and this was also the period where the Pharaoh Amenhotep IV created new Gods and destroyed the old ones.
